Bulls news: Caleb Wilson praises historical connection betwen Chicago, North Carolina

The NBA Draft Combine in Chicago is still ongoing. Without a doubt, eyes will be focused on North Carolina forward Caleb Wilson. Not only for the skills he brings to bear, but also because the Chicago Bulls may likely draft Wilson.

On Wednesday, Wilson said he met with the Bulls and expressed interest, per Elias Schuster of Sports Illustrated. Additionally, Wilson shared an appreciation for the history between Chicago and Chapel Hill.

It turns out that Chicago has quite a track record of drafting elite talent from North Carolina. The obvious one being Michael Jordan in 1984. While at North Carolina, Jordan was a two-time collegiate player of the year. In 1982, he hit the game-winning shot in the NCAA final against Georgetown as a freshman.

The rest is history. Jordan also had a tradition of wearing his North Carolina shorts under his Bulls' shorts.
