North Carolina’s Matt Able reveals what could influence NBA Draft decision

Right now, North Carolina guard Matt Able is in quite a dilemma. On the one hand, he is taking part in the NBA Draft Combine at Wintrust Arena in Chicago. But on the other hand, Able is still pondering about returning to North Carolina for his sophomore year.

Something is still trying to figure out, as he told reporters on Wednesday in Chicago, per Rod Boone of The Charlotte Observer. Overall, Able's decision-making will be based on where he is projected in the NBA Draft.

According to ESPN's mock draft, Able is projected to be the No.39 pick by the Houston Rockets in the second round.

On Tuesday, Able took part in a scrimmage between Team Carpenter and Team Adams. He scored 15 points and was 3-for-5 from the 3-point line for Team Carpenter, who won 95-83.

Able has until the NBA Draft deadline on May 27 to withdraw and return to college. If he does, he will play in his first full season at Chapel Hill.

In April, Able transferred to North Carolina via NC State. At the same time, he was an early entrant into the NBA Draft. In his first year at NC State, Able averaged 8.8 points and 3.4 rebounds per game.

He had a standout performance in an 82-58 win over the Tar Heels in February, which became the largest margin of victory in the rivalry since 1962. He came off the bench to score 19 points and went 5-for-6 from the 3-point line in 31 minutes of play.

Able has already signed the paperwork to transfer to Chapel Hill.
