CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Donovan Mitchell scored 7 points in overtime, capping a furious rally as the Cavs nipped Detroit 117-113 in game 5 Wednesday at Little Caesars Arena.
Cleveland now leads the best-of-seven three games to two.
Cleveland trailed 103-94 with 2:30 left in the 4th quarter but ripped off a late 9-0 run to force overtime.
Cade Cunningham scored a game-high 39 points (20 in the first half) for Detroit.
A 3-pointer by Daniss Jenkins highlighted a 12-0 run in the fourth, putting Detroit up 95-89 with 5:10 left.
James Harden led Cleveland with 30 points, followed by Mitchell with 21 and Max Strus with 20.
Evan Mobley closed the 3rd quarter with 5 straight points, giving Cleveland an 84-80 edge after three. The Cavs outscored Detroit 32-20 in the period.
Tobias Harris led a 31-25 second-quarter Detroit surge as the Pistons took a 60-52 to the locker room at intermission.
Cleveland had 10 turnovers in the half, leading to 20 Detroit points.
