AJ Dybantsa makes Stephen Curry quip while crafting starting 5 featuring himself

It must be nice to be AJ Dybantsa right now. He is wanted by almost every single team in the NBA, he has his life ahead of him, and his career is looking bright. Many believe that Dybantsa will be the first overall pick in next month's NBA Draft, and it is hard to argue against it.

Dybantsa impressed in his one-and-done stint at BYU. He led the nation with 25.5 points, while also averaging 6.8 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.1 steals.

The 19-year-old forward powered the Cougars to a 23-12 record, earning a sixth seed in the NCAA Tournament. They were upset by Texas in the first round.

During the NBA Draft Combine, Dybantsa was asked to create his ideal starting lineup with active players. He had pretty interesting choices, to say the least.

“I'm about to get cancelled for some of this, but I'll put LeBron (James) at the one, (Nikola) Jokic at the five, I'll play the three, I'll put KD (Kevin Durant) at the four, and I'll have (Stephen) Curry at the two, but he's strictly there to shoot,” said Dybantsa.

It is quite interesting that he had to make a disclaimer for Curry. He probably felt that the two-time MVP is undersized at the two spot.

Well, as long as he keeps Curry shooting, his squad will always have a great chance to win.

Dybantsa attended Curry's basketball camp in 2023 when he was still at Prolific Prep High School in Florida.

The Big 12 Freshman of the Year might end up with the Washington Wizards, who won the No. 1 pick in the upcoming draft.
