Liverpool has the opportunity to secure Champions League qualification this week, after which focus will swiftly shift to the summer transfer window.

Three points against Aston Villa would guarantee a top-five finish for the Reds, but anything less could leave the door ajar for the clubs snapping at their heels. Regardless of what unfolds regarding manager Arne Slot — with considerable speculation surrounding the Dutchman's future — Liverpool may well feel compelled to strengthen its squad over the summer.

Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson are set to depart, and they may not be the only high-profile exits. Alisson has been absent for much of the run-in through injury, and questions persist over the goalkeeper's long-term future at Anfield.

Even if the Brazilian remains, experienced reinforcements will likely be required to offset the loss of several figures. There has already been considerable chatter surrounding what lies ahead for the Reds. We've taken a closer look at some of the latest developments.

Alisson talks lined up

Juventus and Liverpool have been in contact to explore a potential transfer of goalkeeper Alisson to Turin, according to reports from Italy.

The situation has since developed further, with suggestions that Michele Di Gregorio could move in the opposite direction. Juve goalkeeper Di Gregorio, 28, has featured in 29 of his side's 36 league matches this season.

He is reportedly eager to secure an uncontested first-choice berth at his next club — whether that remains at his current home or elsewhere — and the Bianconeri's pursuit of Alisson would render the former unlikely.

The same sources indicate he may not be guaranteed that role at Liverpool either, with Giorgi Mamardashvili widely expected to take the No. 1 jersey should Alisson depart.

A further possibility for Di Gregorio could be a switch to Tottenham, providing the London outfit steers clear of relegation, with Guglielmo Vicario being linked with a return to Serie A.

Elliott sent warning

Harvey Elliott is amongst the Liverpool squad whose fate could depend on whether manager Slot remains or departs.

According to former Reds midfielder Danny Murphy, the 23-year-old must brace himself for a move away should the Dutchman continue at the helm next season.

Elliott has spent the campaign on loan at Aston Villa, yet has struggled to make an impression under Unai Emery. He is set to return to Anfield in the summer, having fallen short of the appearance threshold required to trigger a permanent transfer to Villa.

"For Harvey Elliott, if Arne Slot stays in charge, he needs a new home," Murphy told Aceodds.com. "I felt for him this year at Villa, what's gone on. It's my understanding that it's not down to him."

He added: "The reality is he's a super player. He's very creative, brave on the ball. He's a Premier League level player for sure and he'll be desperately open to a change of manager because another manager might really like that type of player."
