Arsenal are preparing a €90 million offer for Real Madrid’s Arda Guler, according to Fichajes, with Mikel Arteta having tracked the 20-year-old Turkish international for months and now ready to formally test Los Blancos’ resolve over a player who has produced 20 goal contributions in all competitions this season.
Guler has established himself as a regular starter at the Bernabeu this season, contributing under both Xabi Alonso earlier in the campaign and interim boss Alvaro Arbeloa since. His emergence as a first-team fixture makes the prospect of Real Madrid agreeing to sell genuinely difficult, but managerial uncertainty this summer has opened a window of doubt around his long-term future at the club.

Guler operates primarily as an attacking midfielder but can also drop deeper into central areas, a positional flexibility that maps closely onto the role Arteta has built around Martin Odegaard at Arsenal. With questions circulating around Odegaard’s fitness and long-term availability after two injury-disrupted seasons, Guler represents both a potential successor and a high-quality alternative in the same system.
Chelsea and Liverpool have also registered interest in the Turkish international, but from a stylistic standpoint Arsenal’s system is the most natural fit. Arteta’s demanding positional structure and press-oriented setup rewards exactly the type of technically precise, quick-thinking playmaker Guler is, and the Gunners’ recent pattern of signing elite young talent on long-term deals makes the profile an obvious one for this summer.
Why Real Madrid are unlikely to sell Arda Guler

The central problem for Arsenal is that Real Madrid have no financial incentive to sell and every sporting reason to keep him. Guler is widely considered a central part of the club’s present and future planning, which makes a voluntary sale at any price extremely unlikely.
The wildcard is the managerial situation. Reports linking Jose Mourinho with the Real Madrid job have created speculation about which younger players might be phased out under a new regime, with Guler’s name mentioned in that context. If Mourinho does take over and his relationship with Guler proves difficult, the dynamic shifts considerably.
For now, Real Madrid are expected to reject any approach, and a €90m offer, while significant, falls well short of what it would take to genuinely tempt them to engage. Arsenal are making a statement of intent rather than an opening bid in a negotiation they expect to win.
