Joe Gomez is once again attracting exit reports, with two overseas clubs linked with the defender as he “considers his options.”
Gomez is Liverpool’s current longest-serving player having arrived in 2015, but he has seen only 1,305 minutes of action this season, missing seven games due to injury.
While he was heavily linked to AC Milan last summer, a lack of defensive depth and the player’s own contentment saw him stay put.
Now, as another summer window nears and Gomez enters the final year of his contract, the *Mail*‘s Simon Jones claims both Besiktas and AC Milan are interested suitors.
Milan notably made a £13 million bid a year ago.

Liverpool will welcome Jeremy Jacquet to the fold in the summer, but with Ibrahima Konate‘s contract situation yet to be resolved and Giovanni Leoni still working back from an ACL injury, Liverpool could still be light in defence.
Consequently, despite his limited minutes, there is a strong argument that Gomez is still needed. However, the 28-year-old admitted earlier this week that his future is uncertain:
“I think anything can happen. I don’t know is the honest answer,” he told reporters.
“I’ve only got a year left so I don’t know, but whatever is meant to be will be, I guess.
“But I’m so grateful to have had this time here at this club. I’ll always be grateful to have had 11 years at a place like this.
“All I can do is be thankful and we’ll see.”
Liverpool’s 2026 summer transfer plans

Gomez has started 15 games and made 31 total appearances in all competitions this season, but he could be left to wait and see how Liverpool’s transfer window transpires before a move is discussed.
It would leave another hole in the squad with Mo Salah and Andy Robertson already confirmed to be leaving, and expectations mounting that Alisson will follow.
Curtis Jones, meanwhile, is being linked with Inter Milan following a season of limited game time, while questions remain over Alexis Mac Allister and Konate.
While the insistence is that the club “do not intend to spend as heavily” compared to last summer, Liverpool have significant needs to address.
According to Jones, Liverpool “have been sounding out the market for midfielders and defenders as they prepare for all eventualities,” which follows on from The Times‘ Paul Joyce reporting new wingers are the priority.
