Liverpool have been handed major morning injury boost before Aston Villa clash

**Mohamed Salah is available to feature for Liverpool in their Premier League clash away to Aston Villa after injury, Arne Slot has confirmed.**

The Reds have just two matches remaining this season, with Friday’s trip to Villa an important game for both sides, as they look to secure Champions League qualification.

As has been the case all season, Liverpool are plagued by injury problems, with the likes of Hugo Ekitike, Conor Bradley and Giovanni Leoni all long-term absentees.

Speaking in his [pre-Villa press conference](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/lfc-injury-update-salah-return-latest-alisson-konate-and-wirtz) on Thursday morning, Slot provided an update on several figures, including Salah, who will be back in the squad at Villa Park:

_“Ibou is OK, trained with us. Mo will be available tomorrow for only a few minutes, but hopefully can come in. Alisson trains with us again, let’s see where he is tomorrow, if he is ready already or has to wait one more week.”_

On Florian Wirtz, Slot then added: _“Stomach infection, so let’s see how fit he is for tomorrow. He’s on antibiotics. Let’s see if he’s ready to play tomorrow.”_

**Can Mo Salah finish his Liverpool career in style?**

------------------------------------------------------

It’s great to hear that Salah is fit again, rather than being ruled out for the remainder of the season, which would have been a cruel end to his Liverpool career.

Hopefully, the Reds legend manages some minutes from the substitutes’ bench against Villa, prior to starting at home to Brentford on the final day, in what promises to be an emotional occasion.

In terms of Liverpool’s starting lineup to face the Villans, there is a possibility that Alisson comes back in for Giorgi Mamardashvili, having returned to training.

Joe Gomez could be a shrewd option at right-back, given Curtis Jones’ struggles there against Everton, while Jeremie Frimpong continues to flatter to deceive.

The go-to midfield trio of Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai feels likely, with Rio Ngumoha, Cody Gakpo and Alexander Isak potentially making up the attack.

Second-guessing Slot is never easy, but whatever team he goes with, vast improvements are needed after a poor display against Chelsea at Anfield last weekend.
