£87M Liverpool Target Claims That Transfer Links Are Giving Him "A Lot Of Motivation"

Liverpool transfer target Yan Diomande says he is very flattered by reports linking him with other clubs.

The Reds, Bayern Munich and Manchester United are believed to be three teams who hold the most interest in signing the RB Leipzig winger, and speaking about the transfer speculation, Diomande said:

“I don’t think about this kind of thing because I’m trying to be focused on the pitch and because my job is playing football, so [his representatives] gonna take care of everything outside of the pitch.”

“This kind of things give me a lot of motivation to see a lot of clubs speaking about you and stuff like this, but I’m focused. It’s really easy when you have a good team around you. You just have to work, and they’re gonna take care of everything, because the only thing I can control is playing football. The World Cup is next and after that you never know what can happen.”

Liverpool are in the market for a winger

The Times reporter Paul Joyce, a trusted source for information on the Reds, has confirmed that both Diomande and Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola are on the list of targets that sporting director Richard Hughes has drawn up.

Mo Salah’s departure will leave a gaping hole in the first-team squad, so finding an adequate replacement this summer is an absolute necessity.

Leipzig won’t let Diomande leave on the cheap

The German club have secured a place in next season’s Champions League, and they are not under pressure to sell players.

Even before their top 4 finish in the Bundesliga was confirmed, Leipzig were said to be demanding at least €100m (£87m) for the winger’s services. That asking price may have gone up now.
