RB Leipzig’s Antonio Nusa is firmly emerging as a player to watch for Liverpool, with the RB Leipzig winger fitting the profile of a young, explosive attacker who can add pace, dribbling and unpredictability in the final third.
At 21, the Norway international is primarily a left winger, and his ability to attack defenders one-v-one makes him an intriguing option if Liverpool look for Yan Diomande alternatives in the market.
Liverpool’s summer planning appears to be casting a wide net, and Antonio Nusa is the latest attacking name to come into focus. The RB Leipzig forward has built a reputation as one of the more exciting young wingers in Europe, with his direct running and flair making him a natural fit for a side that values quick transitions.
The i Paper’s Mark Douglas has reported:
“Antonio Nusa, who primarily plays on the left, is another on Liverpool’s radar and would probably give Isak a better chance of returning to the sort of form that persuaded the Reds that they were signing a “sure thing” when they paid Newcastle £125m for him in September.”
In terms of output, Nusa has posted solid numbers for Leipzig. Bundesliga statistics show he has made 30 appearances in the 2025-26 season, scoring four goals and providing three assists, while the same source records 42 crosses and a top speed of 34.64 km/h.
The Norwegian international sees his contract expire in 2029, meaning that Leipzig may consider a sale especially if he has no interest in extending terms.
Of course, it would be difficult to see Liverpool get both Nusa and Diomande this summer, as there is also other positions that need focus.
Meanwhile, his teammate Yan Diomande appeared to pour cold water on transfer speculation, saying in an interview this week:
“My contract here is until 2030, so I have four more years.”
“What’s going to happen afterwards? I don’t know. I am a Leipzig player. I will never forget this opportunity. It’s not only about playing football, but the club helped me a lot off the pitch. The media only sees me on the pitch, but the club helped me a lot with my family and my mom,” Diomande said.
