Ben White is not too keen to leave Arsenal. Recently Everton showed interest in the English defender. However, White will have a word with manager Mikel Arteta first.

What Made Everton Take Interest In Ben White?

Everton is interested to bring Ben White to their squad. This is because The Toffees wish to strengthen their defense. Team manager David Moyes wants the best defense of the team. This is why the management was aiming to secure a transfer for Ben White. Everton is not the only team interested in the defender. However, they’re leading the race to secure the 28-year-old player.

Luckily, White is having second thoughts about the same. If the defender is retained in the main lineup, he won’t leave Arsenal. Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown highlighted White’s approach. As per Football Insider, he said,

***“It’s a difficult one with Ben White. If Arsenal win the Premier League title, as I believe they will, and the Champions League as well, why would he want to leave being a part of that squad?***“

Brown further added,

“The only possible reason is if he thinks he’s not going to get much playing time. He’s been back in the side recently when Timber has been injured, but when he comes back, will he drop back down to being a rotation option again?”

Ben White’s Stats, as per FotMob:

Competitions Matches Goals Assists

Premier League 12 0 1

EFL Cup 4 1 0

FA Cup 3 0 0

Champions League 11 0 1

Arsenal Unsure On Retaining White

Now, is Arsenal interested in retaining Ben White? The answer is a bit vague. The defender is currently struggling with an injury. White recently injured himself in a game with West Ham. While he won’t require a knee surgery, the defender will miss out on the remaining season. This also means that the 28-year-old’s World Cup dreams are all but over.

As such, the Arsenal top brass will consider all options on the table, including letting White go. As per Football Insider, correspondent Callum O’Connell said,

“White is seen as somebody who could be moved on for a significant fee given his wealth of top-level experience, placing Everton on alert over his availability.”

The team is currently at the top of the Premier League table. Arsenal has progressed to the Champions League final as well. They will face Paris Saint Germain. Naturally, the management would want their best side forward.

What Lies Ahead For Ben White?

White’s future remains promising despite the injury setback. He had a good season this year. If not for the injury, White would’ve achieved the golden double. He would be one of the few players to win both the Premier League and the Champions League title. White’s style of **football**is a testament to it.

However, White needs to recover quick. He has to ensure that he is irreplaceable. If the 28-year-old sorts out with manager Arteta, he is safe. Mick Brown highlighted the same in his analysis. As per Football Insider, he said,

“That’s something he will have to speak to Mikel Arteta about to seek some assurances, because Arsenal are going to need to have a big squad. If he’s going to part of that squad, then I find it difficult to imagine him leaving Arsenal.”

White has been a crucial part of both Arsenal and Team England. He was also a part of the English squad in 2020 Euro Cup. England finished as runners-up in the 2020 edition. They lost the finals to Italy on penalties. If White wants to retain his place in the Gunners, he’ll have to pull up his socks.
