**FSG president Mike Gordon reportedly sees Jurgen Klopp as his “first choice” option to potentially replace Arne Slot as Liverpool’s head coach.**
The pressure is mounting on Slot, not least after [Mohamed Salah](https://x.com/MoSalah/status/2055661083851903174) took to social media on Saturday afternoon, in a post liked by lots of current Reds players:

Nothing makes me prouder than that. Us crumbling to yet another defeat this season was very painful and not what our fans deserve._
_‘I want to see Liverpool go back to being the heavy metal attacking team that opponents fear and back to being a team that wins trophies. That is the football I know how to play and that is the identity that needs to be recovered and kept for good. It cannot be negotiable and everyone that joins this club should adapt to it._
_“Winning some games here and there is not what Liverpool should be about. All teams win games. Liverpool will always be a club that means a great deal to me and to my family. I want to see it succeed for long after I have moved on. As I’ve always said, qualifying to next season’s Champions League is the bare minimum and I will do everything I can to make that happen.”_
It remains to be seen if Slot will continue as Liverpool’s head coach, but now a respected source on [_X_](https://x.com/indykaila/status/2055705462222266795?s=20) has claimed that Gordon would like Klopp to make a stunning return to Anfield:

For many now, Slot has reached the point of no return, with Salah’s post and the fact that teammates liked it looking damning on the Dutchman.
Klopp coming back to Liverpool would be the dream for millions of Reds supporters around the world, but it is extremely hard to see it happening.
The German has made it clear that he doesn’t intend to return to management any time soon, and it would be a shock if that changed.
It is a rumour that is sure to excite the fanbase, though, and whatever happens, it feels essential that Slot is moved on before next season starts.
