Liverpool owners FSG are ready to green-light a move to sign Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola this summer, with journalist Alexis Bernard issuing the latest update on the situation.
Liverpool's disappointing season took another hit as they were beaten 4-2 by top four rivals Aston Villa at Villa Park on Friday night.
It was the Reds' 12th Premier League defeat of the season in 37 matches, and they have now conceded 52 league goals, which is more than 16th-placed Nottingham Forest.
The pressure from the Anfield support appears to be building against Arne Slot following a miserable defence of their Premier League title, although the hierarchy appears to have made their decision to keep the Dutchman for the start of next season with Xabi Alonso now being confirmed as Chelsea's next manager.
With Alonso off the table, Liverpool may have to look at Premier League options such as Andoni Iraola and Oliver Glasner, who will both be available this summer when they leave Bournemouth and Crystal Palace respectively at the end of their contracts.
What is also clear is that whether Slot stays or not, this Reds side needs strengthening ahead of next season to ensure they are much better than they have been in 2025-26.
Bradley Barcola 'Even More Tempted' to Join Liverpool

Liverpool look to need reinforcements on the wing ahead of the summer transfer window, with Mohamed Salah leaving and Hugo Ekitike set for a long spell on the sidelines through injury.
With the likes of Cody Gakpo failing to shine consistently, it could be that the Reds need to add a player on both flanks, and Barcola would certainly be a strong fit.
The France international is able to play on either wing and after L'Equipe reported on Sunday morning that the Reds are keen on the player, Bernard took to X to claim that not only are FSG ready to pay the price needed to sign the 23-year-old, but that he is getting increasingly tempted to make the switch to Anfield.
German outlet TZ are reporting that PSG want £78m for Barcola, with the French club expecting two or three exits this summer.
Barcola wanted to make the move to Merseyside last summer, but a move failed to materialise.
Barcola is the Top Winger that Liverpool Need

Liverpool need a replacement for Salah and an upgrade on the likes of Gakpo, and Barcola fits the bill.
The 23-year-old is a title-winning forward who has also won the Champions League with PSG, with an impressive goal contribution record along the way.
The Frenchman has 38 goals and 37 assists in 150 appearances in all competitions for PSG to date, although he has found starts in the big Champions League games harder to come by in recent months because of the form of Desire Doue and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in attack.
Nevertheless, Como scout Ben Mattinson has branded Barcola 'one of the best wingers in the world', which is hard to dispute when he is in top form.
