The Ghanaian attacker could be crucial to City winning the title
With Arsenal and Manchester City set to face Burnley and Bournemouth respectively in their next fixtures, neither side can afford a slip-up in the race for the Premier League title.
Arsenal currently sit in first place in the standings, on 79 points with 36 games played, while Manchester City are two points behind on 77 following their 3-0 win over Crystal Palace earlier in the week.
City midfielder Rodri has been on record saying ‘everything can happen’ regarding which team is going to win the league, while Piero Hincapie of Arsenal has detailed the excitement felt in the London club’s dressing room.
Antoine Semenyo has also chimed in on what the team is focusing on and thinking about ahead of their penultimate PL fixture, and specifically mentioned how he feels about Arsenal, too.

Antoine Semenyo says the title race has been ‘intense’ but that Manchester City players are ‘not focused’ on Arsenal
Speaking to The Standard, Antoine Semenyo revealed how his time at Manchester City has been so far since joining in January from Bournemouth, and also what he is thinking regarding the battle for the Premier League.
“It’s been surreal, everything has just happened so quickly. But again, when you come to a team in January, you have to adapt as quickly as you can and do the best for the team… I am happy I am doing so, and Tuesday is obviously a very important [game, against Bournemouth]. So we just have to go there and win,” Semenyo started with.
“The last five months have been so intense, so many games and expectations are high, so we want to win as many games in every cup competition as possible. We’re not focused on Arsenal and what they do. We just have to win our games and apply pressure the best way we can. In order to do that, we just need to win,” the Ghanaian concluded.

Given Manchester City’s position in the title race ultimately depends on Arsenal maintaining their lead, it makes sense that City players are not considering Mikel Arteta’s side a major factor, but if Arsenal do slip up—especially with a defeat while City win—it could mean the fight for the championship goes right down to the final day.
Could Semenyo be a factor in whether Manchester City overtake Arsenal for the league title?
The answer to this question to put it bluntly is, certainly. Semenyo has been a crucial player for Arsenal’s title rivals ever since joining them for £64 million at the start of 2026.
He has scored six goals in 15 games for the Mancunian club, and overall has 16 goals over this year’s league campaign. To pair with that, he has four assists, and has been one of the Premier League’s best players all year.
