Mohamed Salah has once again dominated the conversation among Liverpool supporters after delivering another explosive set of comments that has been interpreted as a fresh dig at Arne Slot.
Salah says changes are needed at Anfield after watching Liverpool “crumble” to a 12th Premier League defeat of the season against Aston Villa. "I have witnessed this club go from doubters to believers, and from believers to champions," Salah wrote on social media. "It took hard work and I always did everything I could to help the club get there. Nothing makes me prouder than that.
"Us crumbling to yet another defeat this season was very painful and not what our fans deserve. I want to see Liverpool go back to being the heavy metal attacking team that opponents fear and back to being a team that wins trophies." Trent Alexander-Arnold was one of the many players to react to Salah's post, which included a few references to Jurgen Klopp.

He added: "That is the football I know how to play and that is the identity that needs to be recovered and kept for good. It cannot be negotiable and everyone that joins this club should adapt to it. Winning some games here and there is not what Liverpool should be about. All teams win games.
"Liverpool will always be a club that means a great deal to me and to my family. I want to see it succeed for long after I have moved on. As I’ve always said, qualifying to next season’s Champions League is the bare minimum and I will do everything I can to make that happen."
Many Liverpool supporters appeared to agree with Salah's statement with fans on social media echoing his concerns about declining standards. One fan on Reddit said: "Strong statement and not one bit is inaccurate. The standards have been in the gutter and this is not what the club’s about. Mo is giving us an assist on the way out."
Another supporter added: "He really could not be more damning. 'I want to see Liverpool go back to being a heavy metal attacking team', 'the identity that needs to be recovered and kept'. 'Everyone that joins this club should adapt to it'. You really don't get much clearer short of him coming out and saying 'I hate the style of football Anfield has us playing, its not the Liverpool style, and it needs to change'".

A third fan said: "He must have been calling Slot out all season, and now he’s just had enough, even after arranging to leave on a free. He could easily have washed his hands of the rest of the season and he’s still in love with the club enough to put this out. Good on him."

Following Salah's exit announcement in March, the forward gave a series of interviews in which he openly discussed his concerns over the culture and standards he believes he is leaving behind at Liverpool.
Ahead of Liverpool’s draw with Chelsea at Anfield, Slot responded to Salah’s comments by insisting that “standards are not only important in the gym,” a pointed remark referencing the Egyptian’s well-known dedication to fitness work.
Despite mounting pressure, Slot has since stated that he has “every reason to believe” he will remain Liverpool head coach next season, although he also admitted supporters are justified in questioning whether he can turn the Reds back into genuine title challengers.
