Liverpool and Everton are now interested in signing an "unbelievable" Premier League star in the summer transfer window.
Salah's time at Anfield coming to an end
Mohamed Salah has delivered a damning assessment of the Reds' very poor campaign, with the Egyptian insisting they need to revert back to a Jurgen Klopp-style brand of football.
"Us crumbling to yet another defeat this season was very painful and not what our fans deserve. I want to see Liverpool go back to being the heavy metal attacking team that opponents fear and back to being a team that wins trophies. That is the football I know how to play and that is the identity that needs to be recovered and kept for good.
"It cannot be negotiable and everyone that joins this club should adapt to it. Winning some games here and there is not what Liverpool should be about. All teams win games."
Of course, Salah played a major role in the success during the Klopp era, but he is set to leave at the end of the season, bowing out at home against Brentford at the weekend.
Liverpool's Mohamed Salah applauds fans as he walks off the pitch
It will be extremely difficult for the 33-year-old's replacement to replicate what he's done since arriving at Anfield in 2017, scoring a whopping 193 Premier League goals, but Arne Slot's side have now set their sights on a new forward.
Liverpool eyeing move for "unbelievable" Premier League star
According to a report from Football Insider, Liverpool and Everton are now battling for Jarrod Bowen's signature, with West Ham United on the brink of being relegated from the Premier League.
West Ham are desperate to keep hold of their club captain, who is valued at £60m, and they are in a strong position to do so, as revealed by journalist Pete O'Rourke, who added: "At the moment, Bowen is happy at West Ham, he’s club captain there as well, but it’s just down to what he feels.
"If he wants to stay in the Premier League, he won’t be short of options. There’s been talk of Liverpool, Everton and Newcastle being interested in him. He won’t come cheap because of his contract situation. He’s under contract at the London Stadium until 2030, and ideally, West Ham would like to keep hold of Bowen."
Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is a massive fan of the England international, saying: “Bowen, what a player he became! Unbelievable. We saw him as well at Hull and he was really good at that time. I’m not sure a lot of people expected this jump, but unbelievable player.”
Despite West Ham's struggles, Bowen has enjoyed a stellar campaign on a personal level, picking up eight goals and two assists in 10 Premier League matches, which suggests he deserves to be playing at a club far higher up the table.
