Liverpool fans have had their say on Arne Slot’s future after Mohamed Salah’s latest statement - and it’s not good news for the Reds’ boss.
Already under increasing pressure following Friday’s 4-2 defeat at Aston Villa, which leaves Champions League qualification in the balance heading into the final week of the season, the heat has been turned up even more on Slot after Salah took to social media on Saturday.
Having already claimed his relationship with the Dutchman had broken down during his extraordinary outburst back in December, Salah seemingly took aim at Slot again as he aired his frustrations on Liverpool’s poor season.

“Us crumbling to yet another defeat this season was very painful and not what our fans deserve,” Salah posted on social media.
“I want to see Liverpool go back to being the heavy metal attacking team that opponents fear and back to being a team that wins trophies. That is the football I know how to play and that is the identity that needs to be recovered and kept for good. It cannot be negotiable and everyone that joins this club should adapt to it.
“Winning some games here and there is not what Liverpool should be about. All teams win games.
“Liverpool will always be a club that means a great deal to me and to my family. I want to see it succeed for long after I have moved on.”

Salah’s statement puts Slot under even more pressure at a time when he’s facing questions over his future, with fans having aired their own frustrations in recent games.
Even more damning for Slot, supporters look to have well and truly lost patience with him now. Liverpool.com ran a poll on its Whatsapp channel asking fans whether Liverpool should fire Slot, and the result was unanimous.
Supporters overwhelmingly voted yes in the poll, with over 2.4k deciding that Slot should be fired, while only 239 respondents felt he should remain in charge.
For the rime being, Liverpool looks to be backing the Dutchman, with Xabi Alonso’s appointment at Chelsea seemingly backing up that stance. Slot himself insisted before the defeat to Villa that he still expects to be in charge at Anfield next season.

"I don't think I’m deciding that alone, but I have every reason to believe I will be Liverpool manager next season,” Slot said on Thursday.
"First of all, I am contracted to this club, and second of all, from all the talks we are having. So yeah, that is my take on it.

"If you don't have the best season, especially if you compare it with last season and the other season, maybe you have a different debate. But if you compare it to last season, this has definitely not been a great season.
"Then it is also normal that criticism comes and we have all had our share - the players have had their share, the manager has had their share, people in the club have had their share. That is how things work nowdays if you don't win the league."
