For Arsenal, the job could not be simpler; two wins in their final two matches will be enough to win a first Premier League title in over two decades.

The first one of those games comes on Monday night (18th May) against an already relegated Burnley.

Brilliant home record against promoted teams

A stat that will bode well for Arsenal is their record at home against newly promoted teams; the Gunners are unbeaten in their last 44 games at the Emirates against sides that have come up from the Championship, with the last defeat coming against Newcastle in November 2010.

Arsenal have also won all of their last 15 matches, scoring 43 goals in that time, and conceding nine.

It is also the first time since March 2024 that Arsenal will play on a Monday night, and the last time did not go so badly for them either, as they thumped a promoted side, Sheffield United, 6-0.

Final home game record

Continuing on the trend of positive records in final home games, Arsenal have lost their final home match of the season just once since 1998, a 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa in 2011, in which Darren Bent scored a brace.

Since the formation of the Premier League in 1992, Arsenal has held the most successful record for a final home fixture of any team, with 24 wins and just four defeats in 28 games.

Under Mikel Arteta, Arsenal have won all six of their season-ending games at the Emirates.

Final home game record under Arteta:

19/20 - Arsenal 3-2 Watford

20/21 - Arsenal 2-0 Brighton

21/22 - Arsenal 5-1 Everton

22/23 - Arsenal 5-0 Wolves

23/24 - Arsenal 2-1 Everton

24/25 - Arsenal 1-0 Newcastle

Lineup dilemmas

With Ben White to now miss the rest of the season, and Jurrien Timber not yet available for action, it is likely that Cristian Mosquera will fill in on that right-hand side as he has on many occasions during the season.

Martin Ødegaard changed the game with his assist for Leandro Trossard at West Ham, so it would be reasonable to expect the captain to also come back into the lineup, whether that be in place of Myles Lewis-Skelly, and in the role as a number eight, or instead of Eberechi Eze in a more familiar number 10 role.

Martín Zubimendi could also come into the midfield, though Lewis-Skelly's recent performances in the middle of the park have given Arteta a potential reason to leave him in that position with Declan Rice.
