Pep Guardiola is leaving Manchester City at the end of the season, bringing down the curtain on one of the most remarkable managerial tenures in the history of English football.

The 55-year-old Catalan will depart after Sunday's final Premier League game against Aston Villa, ending a 10-year reign in which he has transformed the club beyond recognition and collected 20 trophies.

The news has been an open secret among those close to Guardiola for some weeks, but confirmation is expected on Sunday, timed to allow his legacy to be properly celebrated at an open-top bus parade through Manchester on Monday.

The build-up to the parade is set to begin at the city's Northern Quarter at 4pm before culminating outside the Colin Bell Stand reception at the Etihad Stadium an hour later. City have begun informing sponsor partners that the announcement is imminent.

Guardiola's decision comes just 48 hours after he guided City to a 1-0 victory over Chelsea in the FA Cup final at Wembley, the 20th trophy of his decade at the club and, as it turns out, his final honor on the touchline at the stadium.

He had been characteristically evasive when asked about his future in the aftermath of the win. When told by a TNT Sports presenter that he simply could not be leaving, he replied with a puzzled "Rumors?" before smiling, saying "Have a lovely evening" and slipping away.
