Let us take a look at the players Arsenal should Sell in the summer transfer window of 2026
Arsenal find themselves in the most consequential situation of the Arteta era. The Gunners reached the Champions League final and banked £122 million in UEFA prize money, yet the club face a summer where selling matters just as much as signing. The three players Arsenal should sell, Gabriel Martinelli, Ben White, and Gabriel Jesus, have given everything, but 2026/27 demands a squad without sentiment attached to it.
Martinelli’s time at Arsenal may be approaching a natural conclusion.
Martinelli is entering the final year of his contract next term, and the Gunners may look to reluctantly cash in. Since Noni Madueke arrived in the summer of 2025 and took over Martinelli’s left-wing spot, Martinelli has managed only two Premier League starts this season, illustrating how his transition to a bit-part role suits neither him nor Arsenal’s ambitions.
He would benefit from a club that can offer him a central role. Arsenal, in turn, could look for a left-winger tailored to their current tactical needs. There is already interest from a number of top clubs should he become available. Selling him now, while his value remains strong, would help maintain financial health and support reinvestment in the squad.
Ben White has fallen irreversibly down the pecking order
Club chiefs approved White‘s departure as far back as March, with Football Insider reporting he forms part of a planned summer fire sale. White has lost his starting right-back spot to Jurrien Timber this season, making a transfer away from the Emirates his best shot at regular playing time and a return to the England squad.
White’s contract runs until June 2028, making this summer an opportune time for both the player and club to consider their options. Retaining a player of his ability, only for him to feature less prominently, may not be ideal for either party.

Gabriel Jesus simply cannot be Arsenal’s future
Jesus looks like a shadow of the player he used to be. With Viktor Gyokeres and Kai Havertz now preferred in the starting lineup, Jesus has seen his role diminished. Arteta would reportedly accept around €40 million for the striker, who has scored 31 goals in 119 appearances since arriving from Manchester City. Offloading him for that price gives Arsenal an opportunity to reinvest and push for trophies, rather than relying on a player who appears past his best.

These players are not failures, but Arsenal have outgrown them. Selling decisively this summer gives Arteta the funds and clarity to build something historic in 2026/27.
