Massimiliano Allegri has spoken to the AC Milan leadership about the most important summer signing: a new striker.
This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that owner Gerry Cardinale is ready to put his full trust in Allegri ahead of next season. He believes that the work the coach has done in his first year is enough to keep building around him, especially if a Champions League place arrives.

There is a lot to sort out once Sunday’s game against Cagliari brings the curtain down on what has been a rollercoaster season. Above all there are gaps in the squad to be filled, such as a new central midfielder and centre-back.
The priority, however, remains the search for a Champions League-level striker. Allegri has mentioned Gonçalo Ramos to those above him, the Portugal international who is currently playing for PSG. It’s not an easy pursuit, but an attempt will be made for the 24-year-old, who has 12 goals this season.
The costs also complicate any attempt for Serhou Guirassy at Borussia Dortmund, who does want to leave Germany which could help things. Nicolas Jackson and Alexander Sorloth are also on the list, of Chelsea and Atletico Madrid respectively.
Plus, there’s the Dusan Vlahovic variable, for whom Allegri and Milan have to wait for Juventus’ moves, as they haven’t given up on keeping him.
