Roma Women are aiming to complete their second Serie A and Coppa Italia double when they face Juventus in the cup final on Sunday.

After lifting the league trophy at the weekend, Roma have the cup final to conclude their season. Their opponents are Juventus, who beat them 4-0 in last season’s final but finished 16 points behind them in the league this season.

The most recent meeting between the two sides was a 1-0 win for Roma in April, courtesy of a Giulia Dragoni goal. Earlier in the season, the reverse fixture was a 1-1 draw, when Valentina Bergamaschi scored against her former club with what would later be voted the goal of the season by the league.

Roma’s route to the final included wins over Lumezzane, Lazio and Inter. Juventus have overcome Cesena, Napoli and Fiorentina on their journey.

A win would give Roma their third Coppa Italia after triumphs in 2021 and 2024. The latter was part of a league and cup double that they are now hoping to replicate.

The game will also be the end of an era, expected to be Emilie Haavi and Evelyne Viens’ last for the club before their departures at the end of their contracts.

Roma coach Luca Rossettini says he is expecting “a hard-fought final” as he looks for “redemption” after losing the finals of the Serie A Women’s Cup and Supercoppa Italiana to Juventus earlier this season. Doing the double, according to the coach who took the reins in the summer, would be “extraordinary”.

The game, taking place at Vicenza’s Stadio Romeo Menti, kicks off at 5pm BST on Sunday. It will be shown live in the UK on DAZN.
