Roy Keane looks to have fired a dig another at Bruno Fernandes as he posted an Instagram story which said "too much attention makes a donkey think he's a lion".
It comes after Fernandes responded to the Irishman as their war of words continues. Manchester United's playmaker claimed history on the Premier League's final day by registering his 21st assist of the season.
That has set him apart from Kevin De Bruyne and Thierry Henry, who had each posted 20. Fernandes drew level with them last week during United's 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest, but Keane took aim at his apparent obsession with the assist record and claimed it had become a "circus act".
Keane referenced comments he claimed Fernandes had made, which suggested he placed more value on his assists record than the outcome of the match - but the Portugal international has hit back.
Fernandes maintained he welcomed criticism, but said on the Dairy of a CEO: "What I don't like is when people lie about things and [in] this case that you said about Roy Keane basically what he said is a lie because… either he saw some other interview or he can't say that I said one thing that I've just not said and luckily for me is everything on record.
"I accept his criticism, I accept that he might like me as a player or not, like me as a person or not. But what I don't like is that he puts words in my mouth that have not been said. That's the only thing I don't like."
Keane appeared fired up on the Overlap when he was calling out Fernandes and said: "How can your mindset of a footballer be going into a match to be about an individual record? He won't be winning trophies, not with that mindset of the team."
Keane's social media post on Monday night looked to be the latest response in the ongoing saga. Fernandes has only won the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup in the six years he's spent in Manchester.

This term Fernandes has landed the Football Writers' Association men's Player of the Year and the Premier League Player of the Season awards - and he's sought to clear the air with Keane.
Fernandes says he has contacted former United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to ask for the Irish's phone number. He said: "I even asked Ole his number to text him to be honest, to have a word with him to say that I don't mind the criticism [but] I don't like when people lie about things that I say. Because this is like… it goes a little bit over the top of the things that I think are acceptable."
