The summer transfer window appears set to be pivotal for Liverpool as they look to recover from a disappointing campaign. The Reds recorded their lowest points total in over a decade but managed to secure Champions League qualification on the final day.
This season's difficulties have raised questions about manager Arne Slot's long-term future at Anfield. Whether he stays or goes, reinforcements will no doubt be needed on the pitch.
Liverpool face the task of replacing at least two influential figures this summer. Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson are both departing for new challenges, while there could end up being further departures before deadline day.
For the time being, though, we're keeping en eye on potential incomings rather than further sales. Here are our latest updates from around Anfield as attention turns from the league to the transfer market.
Sage's honest Liverpool answer
Lens boss Pierre Sage has attracted interest from several clubs following his side's unexpected second-place finish in Ligue 1. While he appears likely to remain at Lens for now, a switch to Anfield would represent a dream opportunity for the 47 year old.

Sage, who arrived at Lens last summer, has indicated his intention to lead the club in next season's Champions League campaign despite links with Crystal Palace. Nevertheless, when questioned by Telefoot about his ideal role, Liverpool's name emerged.
Lens finished eighth last season under Will Still before turning to former Lyon boss Sage. Helped by some shrewd signings including top-scorer Odsonne Edouard and French international Florian Thauvin, Les Sang et Or won the Coupe de France and ran PSG close in the title race.

Liverpool's pursuit of Jeremie Frimpong last summer has not prevented them from keeping a close watch on his fellow Dutch international Denzel Dumfries. The Inter Milan defender, who has two years remaining on his deal, is believed to have a release clause worth just under £22million and the Reds are reportedly prepared to meet that asking price.
According to Italian media, Liverpool are plotting a summer move after initially exploring a deal in January. The 30 year old full-back has also been linked with a potential switch to Barcelona, should the Spanish giants decide to offload Jules Kounde.
Dumfries has been at Inter since 2021 and reached the milestone of his 200th appearance for the club this season. He also started six of the Netherlands' eight World Cup qualifying fixtures, netting against both Finland and Poland.
