**West Ham must take relegation as an opportunity to turn the club around and begin a new era in east London.**
There is undoubtedly a significant pain and feeling of despair when it comes to falling to a lower division, with the Championship seen as a cruel reality as to where the club is and how it’s been run.
But this is the reality and it’s one that West Ham cannot hide from. However, despite the turmoil, it can be also seen as a huge opportunity for much needed change.
That change needs to start from the very top, with new direction to this rudderless club under David Sullivan, who needs to accept his time is up and he needs to go.
It’s not only Sullivan who needs to go, there needs to be a full clear-out and a rebuild of our football club, to enable us to heal, rebuild and come back a stronger force in the modern game.
Nuno may have the CV that shows he could do a good job in the Championship, but the reality is that he’s tainted with the failure we have witnessed, like many of the players we need to see the back of too.
West Ham is a club reeling from relegation but it’s also one that is facing an opportunity for a complete reset and rebuild.
This time needs to be one that is used and used well, which means Sullivan cannot play a part, aside from doing the right thing and resigning whilst selling his controlling stake at the club.
Relegation although painful, can be a blessing in the long run for this club, for those who crave change and want their West Ham back.
