Confidence about signing West Ham star – Transfer at around €35m

Crysencio Summerville impressed for West Ham at times this season and his exit is now looking likely.

The attacker came up with vital goals in big games throughout the 2025/26 campaign. He scored against Tottenham and Chelsea, assisting twice against Nottingham Forest and also found the net in a 1-0 win over Fulham some weeks ago.

Sport Witness have covered AS Roma’s interest in the winger, with the Giallorossi looking for attacking additions.

With the Italian side having qualified for the Champions League, there is increasing confidence about a move for the West Ham player.

Hope after rejected January move

Il Messaggero are sure that the Dutchman is one of the main targets for Roma. Gian Piero Gasperini is a big fan of him and has previously tried to bring him to Rome.

West Ham had rejected that approach in January but may not do the same now. The Hammers are destined to lose key players and Summerville is represented by the same agency that controls Donyell Malen. He has sparkled in Roma colours and can unite with his compatriot at the Italian capital in the summer.

Gazzetta dello Sport have a similar stance, suggesting West Ham can sell Summerville for €35m. Their valuation was higher earlier but relegation has reduced it, making it easier for Roma to sign the Dutchman.

The agency connection is spoken of by the pink daily too.

Big competition likely

Roma will face major competition from English clubs. Tottenham have been mentioned as a suitor by the British press. Even without European football, they could be an appealing destination, especially with Roberto De Zerbi at the helm.

They’re also looking at a summer shakeup. This can lead to Spurs possibly spending big on the West Ham player, having signed Mohammed Kudus from them last summer.

What Roma can rely on is the agent connection. They can use intermediaries to reduce the Hammers asking price. If the player is keen, it can also play in the Giallorossi’s favour. That’s why it will make sense for them to agree personal terms and then pressure the London club into a sale.
