Wolves face a huge summer of transfer activity.
Rodrigo Gomes has pledged to give everything to fire Wolves back into the Premier League if he remains at the club.
Boss Rob Edwards has said Gomes is likely to stay at Molineux this summer, and the wide man echoed his head coach’s comments.
However, the 22-year-old admitted his future is not yet certain as Wolves prepare for life in the Championship.
Asked if he expects to still be at Wolves after the summer, Gomes said: “I think yes. Being 100 per cent honest don’t know.
”I didn’t speak to my agency because I was focused to finish the season well.
“Now let’s see. I think so, but in football everything can change. But, I think yes, let’s see, and if I am staying I promise to do everything to get Wolves back in the Premier League again.”
A draw at Burnley on the final day of the season meant Wolves ended the campaign with just three Premier League wins - the lowest total in a league season in the club’s history.
It brings an end to an eight-year stay in the top flight, with the Old Gold now targeting an immediate return.
Asked if he is hungry to help Wolves bounce back next season, Gomes added: “Of course.
“Being in the Championship is not the same as being in the Premier league. But the Championship is a very competitive league, and being part of a team that gets promoted is amazing.
“Let’s see, if I am part of Wolves, I will do everything to do that and get Wolves to the Premier League again.”
Gomes arrived at Molineux from Braga on a five year deal in 2024. His deal can be extended until 2030.
The 22-year-old has shown flashes of promise during Wolves’ dismal campaign, despite being sidelined for more than two months with a groin injury that required surgery.
The Portugal under-21 international said he has felt the support of Wolves fans throughout a difficult season and thanked them for standing by the team.
“I feel the love from the fans, I really appreciate that,” Gomes said.
“I promise them that if I stay here then I will do everything to help the club come back to the Premier League.
“I will do everything to help this club, because it is a big club, with very good people inside, very good people outside, the fans, and the club deserves to be in the Premier League.”
