Transfer Talk: Town linked with Seagulls winger

Ipswich Town are reportedly among a number of Premier League clubs that will be battling to sign Solly March over the coming weeks.

It is widely expected that the winger will be allowed to leave Brighton & Hove Albion this summer, with the Seagulls unlikely to trigger the 12-month extension clause within his contract, which is due to expire next month.

After joining the club in 2012 from non-league Lewes, 31-year-old March has been a key figure in Brighton’s rise to the top flight, racking up more than 300 appearances across all competitions.

And news of his potential availability is said to have captured the attention of several suitors, including Ipswich.

According to TEAMtalk, the Tractor Boys will face some stiff competition for the former England Under-21 international’s signature, with fellow promoted side Coventry City also credited with an interest alongside Newcastle United, Everton, Crystal Palace, Nottingham Forest and Fulham.

West Ham United and Wolverhampton Wanderers, both of whom have been relegated to the Championship, are also thought to be in the running.
