There’s plenty of managerial talk doing the rounds across the Championship, with John Mousinho’s future under the microscope in recent weeks.
John Mousinho’s Pompey future has been under the spotlight in recent weeks.
The head coach has been heavily linked with a move away from Fratton Park this summer after guiding the Blues to Championship safety.
There are plenty of positions still available across the Championship, with Blackburn Rovers, Watford, Burnley and Bristol City still in search of a new chief.
Here’s the latest gossip and speculation as the Blues’ second-tier rivals weigh-up their options.
Lincoln City boss to pen new deal amid Bristol City links
Michael Skubala is set to pen fresh terms to remain with Lincoln City, according to reports.
The 43-year-old’s stock is firmly on the rise after leading the Imps to the League One title and crucially a first return to the Championship in 65 years.
And Skubala was the catalyst behind the impressive improvement at Sincil Bank, with Lincoln racing to 103 points on their way to promotion.
The Robins were believed to have targeted the head coach alongside Mousinho and was reportedly a ‘leading candidate’ for the vacancy.
Despite Ashton Gate interest, Football Insider have claimed Skubala has agreed a new deal to remain in charge at Sincil Bank beyond his current 2028 expiry.
The report suggests the in-demand boss had held talks with the Robins, but has made his desire to stay with the Imps clear.

The fallout from West Ham’s Premier League relegation has already begun.
The head coach had been called in for a meeting with West Ham’s hierarchy for talks over his future, with that meeting subsequently expected to see him depart in the coming days.
The 52-year-old, who was appointed as Graham Potters’ successor in September, chose not to speak about his future after their fate was confirmed on Sunday.
It has been suggested Santo’s three-year deal contains a break clause that allows the Hammers to sack the Portuguese coach without paying compensation, while the ex-Wolves man is also free to talk away.
Pompey will make their first trip to the London Stadium next term and will face West Ham for the first time since January 2012.
