Everton make contact to sign 'unplayable' Premier League forward as agreement reached - report

Everton are eyeing a move to sign a new forward to bolster their squad this summer, and have identified a target they want to bring in, according to TEAMtalk.

The Toffees were in the hunt for European football this season before some poor end-of-season form saw them finish 13th in the Premier League, with just one point more than they managed in the prior campaign.

David Moyes is keen to help take the team up a level and push for Europe on a regular basis, and after a season of struggles in front of goal, the Scot is now ready to make a move for a reliable forward to help ease their problems.

solly march

According to a report, Everton have made contact with Brighton star Solly March over a summer move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium after it emerged that he will be leaving the Amex Stadium this summer.

The winger, who has been described as 'unplayable', has been with the Seagulls since 2013, but an agreement has now been reached between the 31-year-old and the club for him to move on this summer when his contract expires.

March was restricted to just 38 minutes of Premier League football this season after a knee injury, but he is now fully recovered and fully fit, and is keen to resurrect his Premier League.

The Toffees have now made contact about a move, with Moyes understood to value his incredible versatility and experience. Those close to the player believe he still has several years left at a high level, and sources suggest he is now carefully assessing the next step of his career with multiple attractive options already emerging.

Everton Need Quality Not Experience

David Moyes is well known for liking experience within his squads, and that is one thing that Everton do not lack currently.

James Tarkowski, Michael Keane, Jordan Pickford, Idrissa Gana Gueye, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Dwight McNeil all have several years of experience at the highest level, and while March would add to that, there are likely to be some question marks about whether or not he can still deliver at the highest level.

The club already have the likes of Tyler Dibling and Iliman Ndiaye available in the squad, while they hold an option to make a move for Tyrique George permanent, and there is interest in bringing Jack Grealish back too.

A free transfer move for March could be ideal if Moyes opts to go in a different direction, but there are other gaping holes in the squad that need filling, and they should be prioritised first and foremost.
