West Ham now want highly-rated Championship transfer guru as summer recruitment plans begin

West Ham United are eyeing a move for Middlesbrough head of football Kieran Scott, according to talkSPORT.

West Ham are preparing for life in the Championship and are looking to make much-needed changes at the London Stadium club.

The Hammers have yet to decide whether to stick with manager Nuno Espirito Santo, but they are making plans for the summer transfer window and Scott appeals to them.

The highly-rated transfer guru has the experience West Ham need as they look to appoint a new director of football since Kyle Macaulay left as head of recruitment last October.

Scott was in charge of recruitment at Norwich City and joining the Hammers could appeal to him as they eye an immediate return to the Premier League.

Boro missed out on promotion to the top-flight following a 1-0 defeat to Hull City in the final of the Championship play-offs last Saturday.

Their head of recruitment could now look to move on and West Ham will be looking to lure him to London Stadium.

Scott is in charge of recruitment, scouting, transfers and the academy at Boro, and he could want similar power at West Ham.

David Sullivan and Nuno were in charge of recruitment in the winter transfer window, but it was not a huge success given how their season ended.

The West Ham medical team advised Nuno not to sign Pablo Felipe because he had a hamstring injury.

However, he went ahead, with the 22-year-old striker becoming West Ham’s first January arrival, joining them in a €20 million deal from Portuguese club Gil Vicente.

He failed to score in 17 games across all competitions, only weighing in with one assist in those appearances.

The Hammers could do with a proper recruitment team and Scott could be the perfect man for them.
