Brighton have already signed a brilliant Solly March replacement - he was free

The talented and popular Solly March could be on the move this summer after his 300th appearance

It's been widely reported that Solly March will leave Brighton this summer.

The 31-year-old has been plagued by injuries and is out of contract with the Seagulls.

March - who is fully fit once again - featured for the final 30 minutes of Albion's season-ending 3-0 loss to Manchester United but managed just four Premier League appearances this term.

300 up for Solly

The Sussex-born winger has made 300 appearances for Brighton, having joined from local non-league team Lewes in 2011. He‘s a hugely popular figure with all at the club and a fans’ favourite.

After the United defeat, March was presented with a 300 Brighton shirt and head coach Fabian Hurzeler said: "Three hundred this game. A great achievement.

“I know also for you a really tough season but you always fought back.

"You always were there for the team, for the club.

“Therefore, the club wants to give you a jersey.

“Three hundred games stands for your quality, for your work ethic, for what you give to the club."

Amario Cozier-Duberry

If, as expected, it is goodbye to March Brighton have to look for replacements and there could be one outstanding candidate in Amario Cozier-Duberry, who spent the season on loan at Bolton Wanderers.

Cozier-Duberry joined Brighton on a free transfer from Arsenal in 2024 and soon impressed on a pre-season tour of Japan.

He then had a challenging loan spell at Blackburn, before joining League One Bolton.

The 20-year-old thrived with Steven Schumacher's team despite missing 12 matches with a knee injury, and helped them to promotion to the Championship via the play-offs.

Cozier-Duberry scored 10 goals and claimed 13 assists this term and no doubt Brighton and Hurzeler will track him very closely in pre-season.

League One and the Premier League are different beasts but Cozier-Duberry's potential is clear.

“I have had conversations with Brighton and with Bolton but we will just have to wait and see what the future holds,” Cozier-Duberry said earlier this month.

“I’m not too sure yet. It’s still early days.”

Brighton’s other options - Gruda, Buonanotte, Howell

There are of course others, with Brjan Gruda yet to fulfil his potential and expected to return following his loan at RB Leipzig.

Left-footed attacking midfielder Matt O'Riley is also an option but his future looks far from certain under Hurzeler and O'Riley's best position is perhaps more central. The same too for Facundo Buonanotte, who returns after miserable loans at Chelsea and Leeds.

Young prospect Harry Howell is also a candidate but his progress slowed in the second half season.

If he stays this summer, Yankuba Minteh will likely be the first choice left winger but don't rule out Cozier-Duberry.

The ex-Arsenal man could be a player more than capable of unpicking Premier League and Conference League defences.
