Man Utd have "tracked" £52m German star, his club "convinced" he will leave

Manchester United have tracked the performances of Eintracht Frankfurt left-back Nathaniel Brown, according to the Manchester Evening News.

The Red Devils are poised to make multiple changes to the first-team squad this summer, and a new left-back could be among the prime priorities.

Luke Shaw had a fantastic 2025/26 season, in which he was ever-present, but the Englishman’s fitness could be tested by a heavier workload next term.

United played just 40 games in the recent campaign, but that number could significantly increase to 60 if the club go deep in the Cup and European competitions.

With Shaw’s worrying injury record, the club desperately need a proper backup and competitor, who can eventually go on to become the first-choice left-back.

Patrick Dorgu is currently the specialist left-back deputy in the squad, but the Red Devils consider him a left winger who can compete with Matheus Cunha.

Manchester Evening News now claim that United have monitored the progress of Eintracht’s Brown. He is one of the names in consideration as they seek a new left-back.

Brown would be a quality acquisition

The Germany international can operate as a left-back or left wing-back. He made 42 appearances during the recent campaign, registering four goals and six assists.

Brown is known for his aggressiveness and overlapping runs as a wing-back. When deployed as a left-back, he has impressed with his inverted runs into midfield.

The 22-year-old has also excelled defensively. He won over four duels and three tackles per Bundesliga appearance last term, alongside four recoveries and one interception.

On top of this, his discipline has been brilliant with just three yellow cards. Brown did not make an error leading to a shot or goal during the recent top-flight campaign.

It was reported back in December that Eintracht are 100 percent ‘convinced’ that Brown will leave in the summer, and they plan to demand at least £52 million for him.

That price could end up being lower. Eintracht have not qualified for any European competition next term, and may require a big-money sale to offset financial losses.

This offers United the opportunity to land Brown for around £40m, in our view. The club must be proactive with Real Madrid and Barcelona also keen on signing him.
