Over many years, Liverpool Football Club has been home to some of the Premier League’s best-ever attacking talents, subsequently handing the supporters memories to last a lifetime.
From Ballon d’Or winners like Michael Owen to the infamous trio of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah - the fans at Anfield have truly been blessed.
However, the latter of the aforementioned trio has become the final player to depart the Reds, after playing his final game for the club against Brentford on Sunday.

As a result, Arne Slot and the hierarchy have the near-impossible task of replacing the Egyptian, who scored 257 times for the club, during the upcoming summer window.
The recruitment team will be hunting far and wide in the weeks ahead to try and identify a top-level talent who can emulate the 33-year-old’s impact on Merseyside.
Liverpool make approach to sign £87m star this summer
In an attempt to bolster Slot’s forward line next campaign, a plethora of leading European talents have appeared on Liverpool’s summer transfer shortlist.
PSG star Bradley Barcola has emerged as just one target for the Reds in recent days, with Fabrizio Romano stating that the club are still huge admirers of the Frenchman.

The 23-year-old was a huge transfer target last summer, but the hierarchy could revisit a potential deal in the months ahead - with a £60m price tag being mooted.
He’s not alone on the club’s shortlist ahead of the upcoming window, with RB Leipzig talent Yan Diomande another who’s hugely appreciated on Merseyside.
According to Romano himself, the Reds have already entered talks over the possibility of completing a deal for the 19-year-old sensation during the upcoming window.
He claims that Slot’s men have presented a proposal to the player and his representatives, with a deal potentially costing as much as €100m (£87m) this summer.
However, Ole Werner’s side are reluctant to lose the Ivorian winger this window and have offered the forward a new deal - but the decision will be completely down to the player.
Why Diomande would be Liverpool’s own Erling Haaland
In their hunt for Premier League glory in recent seasons, Liverpool have often come up against some stern tests - none harder than Manchester City and Erling Haaland.

The Norwegian international has been one of the division’s most potent attackers in recent years, subsequently winning the Golden Boot on three occasions over the last four years.
The 25-year-old’s lowest goal tally for a season in the Premier League is 22, which reaffirms his phenomenal ability to consistently find the back of the net.

Since his move to the Etihad in the summer of 2022, Haaland has racked up a sensational tally of 162 goals in 198 appearances - eight of which have come in 11 outings against the Reds.
Their move for Alexander Isak last season was seen as the one to secure their own version of the City star, but that could happen this summer with a move for Diomande.

Whilst the Ivorian is more of a wide threat than a centre forward, he could emulate Haaland in making a name for himself after being part of the Red Bull project.
The Norwegian featured for RB Salzburg in the years before his move to City, with Diomande achieving similar levels during his first season in Leipzig.
He managed to register an impressive tally of 12 goals and nine assists in the Bundesliga this term, with only five players registering more goal contributions during the same period.
His impressive form has clearly caught the eye of Liverpool’s recruitment team, but journalist Graeme Bailey has also sung his praises - labelling him as “one of the world’s best young talents.”
Away from his goalscoring feats, the 19-year-old has also managed to impress with his dribbling ability - subsequently completing 4.3 dribbles per 90 - a tally higher than any other player in Germany’s top-division.

Other tallies, such as 2.1 chances created per 90 and a 49% shot on target accuracy rate, also highlight his all-round nature within attacking areas - similar to that of Haaland at the Etihad.
£87m would be a huge investment from the Liverpool board once again this summer, but it’s a deal that could certainly soften the blow of Salah’s impact.

His talent is there for all to see, with Slot and his staff able to take the Ivorian to the next level upon any transfer to Merseyside during the summer window.
Should he get anywhere near the levels produced by Haaland in the Premier League, such a deal would be one of the club’s best and would increase their chances of regaining the trophy in 2026/27.
