Fulham need to improve offer by €5m for signing – Rule change could force club to sell

Fulham are back in the mix to sign Galatasaray’s Roland Sallai in the summer window.

Marco Silva had Kenny Tete and Timothy Castagne as the two right-backs at his disposal this season.

Fulham seem to have identified the need to strengthen this position since January and had identified Sallai as a target.

In fact, the Premier League side made a concrete attempt to secure the 29-year-old’s services in the winter market.

Fulham failed in January

That’s according to TRT Spor, who cover Fulham’s failed attempt in the last window and their stance for the summer.

The London club had offered €10m for Roland Sallai in January and the Süper Lig winners turned it down.

Marco Silva’s side continue to have the Hungary international on their agenda for next season.

Galatasaray invested €6m to sign him from SC Freiburg in September 2024 and are really happy with him.

They are reluctant to sell him but the new rule change for the 2026/27 Süper Lig season could force them to part ways with Sallai.

As per the new rule, a Turkish club can’t have more than 14 foreign players in their squad, of which four players must be born on or after January 2023.

Therefore, the Turkish champions seem to have softened their stance on the Hungarian and now want at least €15m to sell him.

In other words, Fulham need to improve their January offer by at least €5m to secure his services. There’s no indication or suggestion of the English club planning to return with an improved bid.

Last week, Sport Witness relayed news of Nottingham Forest’s interest in the fullback. The same source also stated Galatasaray are demanding €25m to sanction a summer move.

Contract, value and agent info

Roland Sallai will have two years left on his contract in over a month’s time. His value, as per Transfermarkt, is €12m.

The highest was €16m in July 2021, when he was at SC Freiburg and agency The.Team are representing the Fulham target.
