One in and one out – Newcastle United offered player as part of summer transfer

Bayern Munich are keen on signing Newcastle United‘s Anthony Gordon in the summer.

On May 15th, Sport Witness covered claims from Germany the Bavarian club are confident of securing his services.

The source also stated the Newcastle United star is leaning towards a move to Bayern Munich.

Last week, Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl confirmed “good conversations” with the 25-year-old.

Vincent Kompany’s side are focusing on the England international to improve their attack next season.

€20m gap between Bayern and Newcastle United

Bild now pick up on that and cover the latest on Bayern Munich’s efforts to sign Anthony Gordon.

The German champions have identified the Newcastle United man as the big target for the summer and have already started negotiations.

There’s an agreement in place between the forward and Bayern Munich, who now have to agree a deal with the Magpies.

They are ready to spend €60m while Eddie Howe’s side are demanding €80m for Gordon. The fee can be affordable by selling some of their players like Alexander Nübel, who spent this season on loan at VfB Stuttgart.

Nübel dreams of succeeding Manuel Neuer but the reality is he has no future at the Allianz Arena.

Newcastle United are in the market for a new goalkeeper, and the 29-year-old Germany international could be an option.

Bayern Munich seem to be aware of this and can offer their stopper as part of the deal for Gordon.

Nübel would be on his way out and his inclusion could convince the Tyneside club to lower Gordon’s price. However, the former prefers to join another club in England or Italy over the Magpies.

Howe’s side would have to convince the stopper to change his stance to sign him.

Contracts, values and agent info

Both Anthony Gordon and Alexander Nübel’s contracts expire in 2030. Transfermarkt value the Englishman and the goalkeeper at €12m.

British agency Unique Sports Group represent Gordon and Siebert & Backs take care of Nübel’s interest and future.
