Slot fearful as first offer made for Liverpool player – Club have sensed Reds’ weakness

Juventus are pushing to sign Liverpool‘s Alisson and have now made their first offer for the goalkeeper.

The Italian media has constantly been optimistic that the Brazilian will end up in Turin this summer. Alisson has a lot of respect for Luciano Spalletti, who managed him during their time together at Roma.

Even if Juventus haven’t qualified for the Champions League, the keeper remains keen on the deal. This has been covered bySport Witness, with an agreement over personal terms also close.

Today’sTuttoSport details the Italian club’s further in-roads for the Liverpool man.

Offer on Liverpool’s table

The Turin newspaper feel that the Reds’ manager Arne Slot is increasingly hesitant about letting Alisson leave. While Giorgi Mamardashvili has done well in parts, he has been offered to clubs in England and Italy.

This is making Slot fearful about losing another veteran like Alisson. Andy Robertson and Mohamed Salah have left and letting the Brazilian depart will leave Liverpool light from a leadership perspective.

Juve have offered €5m in their first offer, with a three-year deal on Alisson’s table already.

Despite Slot’s hesitation, the Reds have put a €20m price tag on Alisson’s head. Juve’s current offer isn’t enough but they remain confident of an agreement with the Merseyside club.

How that will happen remains to be seen but the press in Italy remains confident.

Long way to go

Financially, the two parties seem quite a bit apart. But it is a sign that Juve will rely on Alisson’s wishes to reduce Liverpool’s demands.

The Reds are well within their rights to ask for €20m, though. The keeper signed a new deal two months ago and this was probably done to retain or increase his value.

That is why there could still be some time to go before the two clubs strike an agreement. Juve have to be patient and keep using Alisson as a way to bring the price lower.
