Newcastle United are gearing up for what everyone assocuated with the club knows will be a hugely important transfer window.

The Magpies are at something of a crossroads, with the squad in need of a rebuild and several big-name players the subject of transfer speculation.

When key figures at the club acknowledge that some stars will need to be sold in order to continue financing additions to the squad, then interest in Newcastle's high profile players is inevitable, as we have already seen with Anthony Gordon, Sandro Tonali and Tino Livramento.

Gordon's exit feels inevitable, but while others could follow, United will not allow any player to leave for less than their valuation . . . and that will not be on the low side.

Head coach Eddie Howe has admitted this summer will be vital in the club's progress, and is keen to strengthen the options available to him, and replace any outgoing players.

That begs the question who Newcastle can afford to lose, and who must they centre their rebuild around.

While no one wants to see quality players leave, some will be bring in a healthy profit and help siginificantly wien it comes to financial rules, allowing United to spend more on incoming players.

For others, perhaps their time is up, either after solid Newcastle careers or because they have not hit the standards expected of them.

There will also be a key spine of the squad that Howe will want to keep and continue to work alongside, helping new signings to blossom.

But which players fall into which categories? That is where you come in.

Here's your chance to assess the Magpies squad and decide who needs to stay, and who should be heading for the exits.

It's a simple swipe left or right on 27 players of the current squad - we've not included Kieran Trippier as he has already confirmed his decision to leave when his contract expires.

We'll then compile a percentage score for each player, with anyone earning less than 50 per cent 'keep' approval falling into the 'to sell' box.
