**Arne Slot is reportedly happy for Liverpool to sell Harvey Elliott in the summer transfer window, with a move to rivals Leeds United potentially on the cards.**
Elliott’s career has hit the skids in the last two seasons, with Slot finding it hard to play him during the 2024/25 campaign, and a loan move to Aston Villa then not working out.
Granted, the 23-year-old tasted Europa League glory for the Villans, but he has been a peripheral figure and badly needs to get things back on track.
Elliott will now return to Liverpool for pre-season, but it looks as though he has played his final competitive game for his boyhood club, following a new update on his future.
According to [_Football Insider_](https://www.footballinsider247.com/harvey-elliott-keen-on-leeds-move-as-liverpool-transfer-gets-green-light/), Slot has “already given the green light” to the Englishman being sold this summer, with the player himself “keen” on joining Leeds.
The report adds that Elliott’s “main priority is to find a club where he will receive regular game time as part of his next move, and Whites manager Daniel Farke “feels that he can provide that for him in West Yorkshire.”
**Could Leeds United be the perfect fit for Harvey Elliott?**
-------------------------------------------------------------
It is sad that Elliott’s time at Liverpool is coming to an end, but he has reached a point in his career where he needs to be starting for a team every week.
He is such a talented player, and has so many years ahead of him, having been lauded by former Reds striker [Neil Mellor](https://www.empireofthekop.com/2024/12/19/mellor-praise-elliott-special-talent/) in the past: _“Great to see this lad back starting and influencing games. A special talent.”_
Leeds feel like the perfect fit for Elliott, in terms of being a lower-ranked Premier League side where he can be one of the first names on their team sheet, becoming a firm favourite with his creative brilliance and team ethic.
It would have been great to see him return to Liverpool and become a key man, but with Florian Wirtz occupying his role, among others, he would only have been a squad player again, and he needs to have higher aspirations than that moving forward.
