A squad overhaul might not necessarily be on the cards, but incomings and outgoings are still expected at Nottingham Forest this summer.
It is a big transfer window for the Reds in advance of the 2026/27 campaign. Avoiding being dragged into another relegation fight will be the aim for the new term under head coach Vitor Pereira.
The Portuguese believes only a few tweaks to the dressing room are required amid a focus on stability at the City Ground. Nevertheless, the rumour mill is now in full swing…

Kalimuendo talks
Eintracht Frankfurt are keen to agree a reduced fee for Forest loanee Arnaud Kalimuendo. The forward spent the second half of the season with the German outfit and there is a reported £23 million purchase option included in his deal.
Talks between the two clubs are taking place, according to German newspaper Bild (via Sport Witness). It is said Eintracht Frankfurt have “no intention” of activating the clause as it stands because they do not consider the price “feasible”.
Director of football Markus Krosche is conducting negotiations as he "continues to fight” to secure Kalimuendo’s signature on a permanent basis. A swift conclusion to the matter is seen as unlikely, with the Bundesliga side targeting a package of no more than €20m (£17m).
Kalimuendo’s departure in January was much-debated at the time. The Reds brought in Lorenzo Lucca as cover up front but the Napoli loanee struggled and will return to his parent club now the campaign is over.
The top end of the pitch is an area where Forest will assess their options this summer, with Kalimuendo’s future and Lucca’s exit part of that. Chris Wood and Taiwo Awoniyi both have 12 months remaining on their contracts, while Igor Jesus completes the list of Pereira’s current options.

Striker warning
If the Reds decide to bolster their forward options by pursuing Feyenoord’s Ayase Ueda, they might have their work cut out to persuade him to make the move. Former Netherlands international turned pundit Rene van der Gijp is not convinced the City Ground would be the best destination for the Japanese striker, who finished as the Eredivisie's 2025/26 top scorer with 25 goals.
There has been plenty of talk about Ueda heading elsewhere this summer amid no shortage of interest from the Premier League. Brighton and Hove Albion, Tottenham Hotspur and Leeds United have been linked.
But it is the possibility of Ueda switching to Forest specifically that seems to have irked Van der Gijp. He told Voetbal Primeur: “Then I read that Ueda has to leave now; sign (for Feyenoord) for four years if you're enjoying yourself, boy. That's nice, isn't it?
“You score 23 every season. Then you go to Nottingham Forest; do you know how many you score there? Four if you're lucky and get to take the penalties. There's no fun in that either."

Brown battle
Forest face competition for Fenerbahce defender Archie Brown, according to reports from Turkey. Sunderland are said to have already shown their hand in the race to secure the left-back’s signature.
Turkish outlet Sporx claim the Black Cats have submitted an offer for Brown. It follows previous reports the Reds had put forward a bid of €16m (£14m).
Atletico Madrid are also credited with an interest in Brown. It is suggested any decision about the player’s future by the Fenerbahce hierarchy will come after their presidential election takes place early next month.

Brown is said to have two years remaining on his contract, although the Turkish side have an option to retain him for a further 12 months beyond that. A release clause in the region of €20-23m (£17-20m) was reportedly included in his original deal, although Fenerbahce are said to be value him in the region of €18m (£15.5m) as it stands.
