Arsenal look set to test Aston Villa's resolve over Morgan Rogers, according to reports.

TalkSport claims that Mikel Arteta is eager to take England international Rogers to the Emirates after a stellar season under Unai Emery.

Arteta is said to want to make a statement after winning the Premier League which ended a 22-year wait for a top-flight title.

Chelsea are also keen on Rogers as they look to give new boss Xabi Alonso the tools to make them a competitive force after a dismal season.

Manchester United are also said to be chasing Rogers after they returned to the Champions League with technical director of football Jason Wilcox a big fan of the attacker.

Liverpool have been previously linked with Rogers, but after landing Florian Wirtz last summer, appear to have cooled on the former Manchester City attacker.

Rogers is likely to have options abroad too with PSG having tracked the attacker who is valued at £80m.

But that could rise dramatically through the nature of competition for his signature and he could well fetch more than £100m.

Gomez target

Aston Villa could target Joe Gomez amid continued speculation over his future at Liverpool.

The England international has one year remaining on his contract with no signs of an extension.

AC Milan and Besiktas are also said to be monitoring the former Charlton defender whose versatility is said to be an attractive prospect for Emery.

Gomez can play right-back and in the centre of defence, a position that Liverpool have already reinforced with Jeremy Jacquet set to arrive in the summer.

Villa have not made contact with Liverpool over Gomez but they are expected to bolster their squad significantly having returned to the Champions League.

But they could also lose some of their star names to deal with the financial challenges with Rogers said to be a target for Arsenal.

James Trafford could also be on Villa's hitlist while they have also been linked with Harvey Barnes of Newcastle.
