Celta Vigo are expecting negotiations with Wolverhampton Wanderers to drag on this summer as they try to sign Fer López permanently.
Atlantico report on the situation today. They report that while Celta Vigo make no secrets of their interest in keeping the midfielder, convincing Wolves into another loan will not be easy.
Celta working on second deal
The newspaper explains that the Spanish side are working on the second return without a set deadline at this moment in time.
Their obvious desire is for a swift conclusion to negotiations, but they don’t expect them to develop that way. Instead, they will remain patient in their hunt to sign the midfielder once again.
Their biggest advantage, as was the case in January, is the player’s own desire to stay. Their hope is that this will translate into Fer López rejecting other offers and taking a significant reduction in the high salary he currently enjoys at Molineux.
Return to Wolves
La Voz de Galicia, meanwhile, report that Fer López is expected to return to Wolves this summer following his loan spell. The newspaper makes no mention of the hopes about a second signing this summer.
Numerous reports over the last few months have made it clear that Celta Vigo want López back in some form next season.
Sport Witness covered a report recently that money and interest in the move would be deciding factors on the transfer. In reality, though, it all depends on Wolves.
What they want to do with López following relegation to the Championship, remains to be seen. He wasn’t a part of their plans this season after failing to impress following his move in the summer.
But after bouncing back in Spain while on loan at his former club, perhaps now is the opportunity for Rob Edwards to give him a second chance as impressing at Molineux. It seems Celta are waiting for the word from Wolves before they make serious attempts.
