Liverpool have been credited with transfer interest in both Yan Diomande and Anthony Gordon, but one is the subject of a legal dispute and another a bid from Barcelona.
Yan Diomande in middle of legal dispute amid summer interest
Liverpool’s interest in RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande is no secret, with the Telegraph‘s Mike McGrath reiterating the 19-year-old is a “confirmed target” for this summer.
The Mirror, however, report that the German club are “adamant” he is “going nowhere” as their Champions League qualification reduces the lure of a big-money offer.
You sense that position will likely not hold all summer long, especially if the 19-year-old makes a splash at the World Cup with Cote d’Ivoire.

What is more pertinent from the Mirror‘s report, though, is the ongoing legal dispute between Jay-Z’s agency Roc Nation Sports, his current representatives, and his former agents at Maxidel.
The latter argue that the winger is still “contractually bound” to them, and the case has gone to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, which could, therefore, complicate any potential summer move.
If it is all ironed out, you do expect money will talk.

The European Cup returned to Anfield for the third time on this day in 1981, with Liverpool beating Real Madrid in Paris.
Alan Kennedy was the hero at the Parc des Princes, bursting into the Real Madrid box to deliver another crowning moment in Europe just eight minutes from time.
The final minutes of the game marked the last acts in a Liverpool shirt for Ray Clemence and Jimmy Case after 665 and 269 games for the club.
We may have paid the price for this victory, though, as the next two European Cup finals against the Spanish side have ended in defeat!
