Crystal Palace vs Rayo Vallecano
The Conference League final was briefly delayed in the first half due to an incident in the crowd.
Crystal Palace were facing Rayo Vallecano in Leipzig with the title of UEFA’s third-tier competition on the line. It would be either side’s first European title.
But with the match still deadlocked in the first-half, there was a stoppage as players pointed out an incident in the stands to the referee.
Rayo Vallecano goalkeeper Augusto Batalla forced a the match to be paused as he went to ground, and immediately flagged the incident to the referee.
TNT Sports commentators confirmed a fan in the Rayo end had suffered a medical emergency in the stands, and the match was delayed as the fan was attended to.
Broadcast cameras then cut to the stands, showing medics in high-visibility vests tending to the unwell supporter.
A message on the scoreboard confirmed the incident, and the match got back underway despite Batalla’s protestations.
