Cherries planning for Elphick and Cooper to be a key part of Rose's coaching team

The two former Bournemouth players have been a part of Andoni Iraola’s staff as assistants and their stock has risen with the club’s success in that time.

Iraola has said both Elphick and Cooper are ‘more than ready’ to become managers in their own right.

Elphick has been linked with the vacant Bristol City job, but it has been reported by TalkSport’s Alex Crook that he has turned down that opportunity to stay at Bournemouth and become a key part of Rose’s new coaching team.

Rose will bring three staff with him with work progressing on contracts and visas for the trio.

The club are not planning for any further staff departures after Pablo de la Torre left the club with Iraola, and the Cherries have been doing everything possible to keep Elphick and Cooper at the club.

They have been planning for that pair to be a part of Rose’s team and they want to keep that historic connection to the club’s history, which they see as key. They don’t want to lose that DNA from the journey that got the club to where it is now.
