Aston Villa Women nominate Saathi House for World Sevens Football Community Champions initiative

Aston Villa Women’s kit for the upcoming World Sevens Football tournament will feature Saathi House on the front of shirt as part of the competition’s Community Champions initiative.

Based in Aston, just a short distance from Villa Park, Saathi House is a Birmingham charity supporting women, young people and migrant communities through wellbeing, education and community support programmes.

Founded nearly 50 years ago, the organisation has become an important part of the local community, helping women access opportunities, build confidence and develop skills.

As part of the collaboration, players will wear the Saathi House logo on the front of their shirts throughout the World Sevens Football competition which will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.

Saathi House will also become the club’s nominated charity for the tournament, with funds raised linked to Villa’s progression throughout the competition.

“We’ve had the pleasure of attending matches at Villa Park and are looking forward to supporting the team at the tournament.”

“They are an organisation that does incredibly important work in the local community and one we’ve wanted to work with more closely for some time.

“Their connection to Aston makes this partnership especially meaningful and we’re excited to help raise awareness and support through the World Sevens.”

Aston Villa Women begin their tournament against Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday, May 28 at 6pm. Natalia Arroyo's side kick-off the Friday set of fixtures the following day as they face Manchester United at 3pm. The side are back in action only four hours later as they take on West Ham United in their final group stage fixture (7pm ko).

Should Villa progress they will be in semi-final action on Saturday, May 30 at either 11am or 12pm with the grand final scheduled in for 3pm.
