‘Keep an eye’ – Tottenham can oust Nottingham Forest for Italy man

Nottingham Forest attempted to sign Davide Frattesi in January but will now face competition from Tottenham.

The east Midlands side made a significant offer to land the Italian. Inter Milan’s sale depended largely on their ability to sign Curtis Jones from Liverpool, who didn’t open up to the Englishman’s departure. SportWitness covered this, as the Italy man appeared keen on an exit.

That is unlikely to have changed. Frattesi’s lack of game time didn’t improve in the second half of the season either. He started only two Serie A games after that, falling out of favour under manager Cristian Chivu.

His exit from the Nerazzurri is finally expected to go through in the summer. Tottenham’s interest has risen and he can now reunite with Roberto De Zerbi.

Inter’s expectations clear

FCInterNews report on the midfielder’s situation, appearing that his exit is inevitable. Frattesi is awaiting a call from clubs, with a social media post from some days ago seen as his farewell to Inter.

Atalanta, Juventus and AS Roma remain interested for him. Bianconeri boss Luciano Spalletti brought most out of him during his time with the Italian national team. Roma manager Gian Piero Gasperini is seen as a long-time admirer of the midfielder as well.

But Tottenham are also in the picture. The outlet confirms that Nottingham Forest seriously tried to sign Frattesi in January but he could yet end up in England.

Inter expect to receive €25m from his departure, with their valuation falling by at least €10m since January. Frattesi’s current deal with the Italian champions runs out in 2028, making 2026 the best time for a sale.

Spurs don’t need another Gallagher

Frattesi, since his time at Sassuolo, has never been a technical outlet. He excels playing closer to goal and De Zerbi would know that, having seen him in his youth days at Sassuolo.

In a way, Frattesi mirrors Tottenham’s Conor Gallagher. Both players have similar attributes and may struggle to play alongside each other.
