Clarke and Zecevic John set for U19 Euros involvement

While most of the focus this summer will inevitably be on the World Cup, there is another international tournament taking place which will be of interest to followers of the Arsenal youth setup.

The U19 European Championship is set to run from June 28th until July 11th and will be held in Wales.

It is anticipated that Arsenal will have two representatives at the tournament, including Brayden Clarke who is set to feature for the hosts.

The centre-back has previously played for Wales at two U17 Euros and will be eager to test himself at a higher level this time.

Wales have been placed into Group A for the tournament, which will see them take on Germany, Denmark and Spain.

Louis Zecevic John, meanwhile, is likely to feature for Serbia at the tournament.

Serbia edged out England to qualify and are in Group B along with Croatia, Italy and Ukraine.

Versatile forward Zecevic John finished the season strongly for Arsenal U18s and there is an intriguing possibility that he could face Wales and Clarke later in the tournament if both sides manage to progress.

Clarke and Zecevic John could miss the start of pre-season training with Arsenal U21s as a result of their international commitments but the tournament could be hugely beneficial in terms of their overall development.
