Newcastle United will need to sign a replacement for Anthony Gordon - and here are some of the names being linked.

The England international is due to arrive in Catalonia on Thursday afternoon to undergo his medical and finalise his £69.3million transfer.

Gordon’s departure felt inevitable after he failed to feature in any of the Magpies’ remaining six Premier League matches of the campaign.

He missed two of those through injury, but was an unused substitute in four after head coach Eddie Howe admitted to picking his team “with a partial view on the future”.

Selling Gordon less than a week after the 2025-26 season ended is set to unlock the Magpies’ summer spending, as they look to rebuild the squad following their disappointing 12th-place finish in the Premier League.

And part of that will be to replace Gordon, with some names already doing the rounds:

Matias Fernandez-Pardo - Lille

Matias Fernandez-Pardo of Lille is similar to Gordon in that he is capable playing anywhere across the front three, as well as the No.10 position.

The 21-year-old scored eight goals in 29 Ligue 1 appearances last season, earning himself a place in Belgium’s World Cup squad.

Victor Munoz - Osasuna

Victor Munoz, 22, came through the academy at Real Madrid and four first-team appearances before joining fellow La Liga side Osasuna last summer.

Munoz scored seven goals and provided five assists in 36 club appearances, as well as scoring on his Spain debut in a 3-0 win over against Serbia in March. He too is going to the World Cup.

Abde Ezzalzouli - Real Betis

The 24-year-old Moroccan international, who has a reported £51million release clause, has spent the last three seasons at Real Betis after joining from Barcelona.

Ezzalzouli heads into the summer on the back of his best-ever season with 28 goal contributions, including 15 goals and 13 assists.

Malick Fofana - Lyon

Belgium international Malick Fofana is a name Newcastle have been linked with previously, but that was before he missed the majority of the 2025-26 season with an ankle injury.

Still, the 21-year-old is rated very highly having scored 11 goals and provided six assists in the previous season.
