Crystal Palace is reportedly hopeful of convincing Adam Wharton to stay at the club for at least another season, amid apparent interest from Liverpool.
Wharton produced a man of the match performance on Wednesday as Palace won the Conference League final with a 1-0 win over Rayo Vallecano in Leipzig. He has been viewed as one of the best young midfielders in England for several years, and Liverpool has been linked with a move to sign him this summer.
There is uncertainty over the futures of Curtis Jones and Alexis Mac Allister at Liverpool, and the Reds could be in the market to sign a new midfielder this summer.
Wharton has three years left on his contract at Palace, which puts the South London club in a strong position in its bid to keep hold of him.
Palace is also keen to hand Wharton an improved, extended contract, but it is not clear whether Wharton would be keen to engage over that possibility amid interest from much bigger clubs.
Manchester United is also among the clubs that have been linked with Wharton as the Red Devils look to revamp their midfield following the departure of Casemiro.

Meanwhile, Wharton spoke in a press conference after the Conference League final, as he gave his response to missing out on Thomas Tuchel's World Cup squad.
Wharton was not selected in the 26-man squad that Tuchel selected for this summer's tournament in North America.
"That's just part of football. It was never a guarantee I was going to go. I knew that," Wharton said.
"When he called me, he just told me I wasn't there. He said it was close. But yeah, like I said, that's football. I'm not going to sit here and cry about it.
"Still had two games for Palace to go. Obviously tonight being a massive one, I don't really dwell on those things too much.

"It's not the end of the world. I'm still young."
He added: "Hopefully there's other tournaments and World Cups that I can go to in the future. But yeah, I was just focused on Palace and coming here and getting the win, which we have done.
"I'm glad with that and I've got a couple places booked to go [on holiday], but I'm just going to enjoy my summer and tonight."
